A “Turkistan Iftar” program was organized by the Karabük University Cengiz Aytmatov Center for Turkic World Studies in order to share the spiritual atmosphere of the holy month of Ramadan with the spirit of unity and brotherhood of the Turkic world. The event, held at the Karabük University Social Life Center, brought together academics, international students, and invited guests.

During the program, emphasis was placed on the common cultural heritage of the Turkic world, highlighting the concept of Turkistan as a historical and cultural symbol of Central Asia and a representation of the shared bonds among Turkic peoples. The event provided an opportunity for students from the Turkic world studying at Karabük University to come together.


The iftar program was also attended by Mustafa Destici, Chairman of the Great Unity Party (BBP), who shared the iftar table with students. The guests were welcomed by Karabük University Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Kırışık.
As part of the program, traditional dishes reflecting the culinary culture of the Turkic world were served. In particular, Uzbek pilaf prepared and offered by the Cengiz Aytmatov Center for Turkic World Studies was served to the participants. As one of the most well-known dishes of the Turkistan region, Uzbek pilaf attracted great interest from both students and guests.

Before the iftar, a musical performance by students studying at Karabük University was presented, allowing participants to gather and socialize. The program concluded in a warm and friendly atmosphere reflecting the spirit of sharing, solidarity, and brotherhood that characterizes the month of Ramadan.

The Turkistan Iftar, organized by the Karabük University Cengiz Aytmatov Center for Turkic World Studies, aims to strengthen the cultural ties among students from the Turkic world studying at the university and to bring them together around their shared cultural heritage.
